Pleasure Beach in Blackpool really lives up to its name. You really will not be disappointed if you take a pleasure trip with your family or friends. On last count this place had nearly 40 rides and attractions. Of these 40 rides, twelve are roller coasters with the addition of Infusion in 2007. This England based Pleasure beach also can prides itself of being the few parks in the world that can boast of traditional wooden Wild Mouse coaster. How many parks in the world you can think of still having such wooden coaster.
This beach is really worth visiting as it includes modern and classic-age rides. Children will especially enjoy their outing in this famed park as there is separate children-themed section called ‘Beaver Creek.’ There are several children specific attractions that include a Log Flume-type attraction-which is a 1,099 feet long junior wooden coaster. As children are overawed and love mascot, the park has taken care of this entertainment need by having its own costumed mascots.
To take care of the visitors’ gastronomic needs the park has food stalls, restaurants and cafés. You will love the eating joints as there is also an Italian themed restaurant called the ‘Italian Job.’ The beach/park authority has taken care to include restaurants and hotels that provide variety of cuisines to cater to the taste of every section of the visitors who comes from far-off places.

Living in Costa Rica by the beach is a dream come true for kids. There are endless sports, activities, and adventures to be had. At one local international school for elementary aged kids, they go surfing every Friday as part of their physical fitness program. It’s adorable to see them all in a row heading to the beach with their surf boards and boogie boards. On other days the beautiful tree-lined soccer field is full of children doing drills or playing a game of soccer. They also rotate with sports such as basketball, tennis, kick ball, baseball, and flag football.
On the weekends most kids are either at the beach swimming, playing in the sand, snorkeling, tidepooling, taking nature walks, or hiking. Some take horseback riding lessons, music classes, or practice yoga. Costa Rica has an enormous variety of trees, many perfect for climbing. Santa Teresa and Mal Pais have a few surf camps and many surf instructors. In most families here either one or both parents surf. Many times competing for waves or who will stay at home to watch the kids! Surfing has become a family activity where beginners to advanced surfers can have fun and get in the water together. Toddlers can get on a soft top board and catch the white water waves with Dad. As their skills advance, the kids move to different sized boards and go out further to catch their own waves.
The kids growing up in such a natural nature based environment will become amazing bilingual adults with an immense awareness of international cultures. They will be environmentalists and leaders, athletes and multi-cultural. Sure to make their parents proud!

Siesta Key Beach is beauty beyond description. Twice I have rented Florida Vacation homes, both times on a beach. The Siesta Key, Florida vacation Rentals with which, I am familiar have no equal. With exceptional location, they are the epitome of Florida vacation homes. Never to again experience without return, the peaceful late night or early morning walks along the lonely beach lend assistance to one’s inner peace. However, much time have I spent on Siesta Key beach besides when renting a Siesta Key Beach vacation home, many nights I slept on the beach. While working in the area building docks south of Sarasota, often I found refuge along the peaceful shores of the key. After visiting many area beaches Siesta Key Beach has proven to be the most awesome, and safe.
Many nights I would visit Siesta Key. Always anxious to experience the sun setting on the Gulf of Mexico, enjoying it with a fire and some good music creates magic; I long to live it again. Siesta Key’s white sand beaches were the best for this experience. Several months I lived on the beaches of Sarasota and south. When ready I would crawl into my Jeep and fall asleep. Usually waking with the sunrise, I walk the beach before breakfast. On Siesta, often a police officer would check me out to be sure I was not of the criminal element, attesting to the excellent security of the key. Never an issue, I was just a workingman. However, those midnight-hour interruptions led to many moonlight walks along the gentle surf on beaches for which the gulf is famous.
The distinctiveness of the Gulf of Mexico is that if there is no storm out there somewhere, the waves remain very gentle. The sound of gentle waves lapping upon the shore is a calming effect. Unlike the Atlantic coast with its pounding surf, this is a wonderful change-up to the normal ocean-beach experience. Additionally, the water is clean on the west coast of Florida.
The inter-coastal (the water between the key and the mainland) if it has not rained for a couple of weeks remains remarkably clear. I often took walks in the flats to fish, the very shallow and far-reaching areas of the waterway. Standing still and fishing with water to my waist, it was at first surprising to watch fish swim past my feet. Past shoes, funny because the only time I was wearing shoes is when in the water. For months, until I jumped on that shark boat for three months, no shoes out of the water. The shark expedition is another story I will save for a future writing.
This area of Florida is awe-inspiring and Siesta Key Beach is especially awesome. I would love to move back to the beaches tomorrow, honestly. Although, now I might prefer a beach vacation home to the sand, I still want to enjoy it in anyway I am able.
I will be writing more about the area, from a unique perspective. Many little Keys along the Gulf of Mexico offer a variety of atmospheres. I will tell you about the Siesta Key, Florida vacation rentals that I am aware of and share my time on Englewood Beach and Manasota Key (another favorite stop). I will tell of the drums, the drunks, and the shadows that lurk late at night. However, as I go remember, Siesta Key Beach is world famous for a reason. Florida vacation homes offer dreams that come true. It is going to be fun sharing my gulf explorations with you, so check in later!

I love Perivolos Beach. And let me tell you why in just three words: location, location, location. Set at the south end of Santorini Island, you can get anywhere quickly and easily by car from this black sand beach resort area. For example, if you drive a car from Perivolos-Perissa to Oia (located at the very northern end of the island), you can get there in just under 45 minutes… and that’s driving pretty darn slow. You can get to Fira (located more in the center of the island) in about 15-20 minutes. This is a great spot to be in Santorini!
