I have had bonfires at Ocean Beach before, but about a year ago they added the fire pits. However, when I get there, it is usually late, and therefore, there are no more pits available. What time should I arrive to be sure there will be a fire pit available? Does 8 o’clock sound reasonable?

If I were over 18, would I be arrested? I live nearby and was planning on taking a stroll at the beach, but was planning on parking first. What are the consequences? Do the police patrol that area periodically?

I’m looking for a place that is not horrifyingly expensive, that’s not designed for couples, and that has some touristy stuff around or at the very least some bars and restaurants. I am new to this side of the country and have no clue where to go. I would prefer to find a reasonably priced room that has an ocean view and is within walking distance to a sandy beach.
