I want beach waves, but i have braids, and heat from an iron melts the hair.

I wanna look special Wednesday at school, because it’s the day before break. I wanna look cute and pretty tomorrow and Wednesday, too. And I was kinda looking for those beach waves sorta thing. And I need like, a step-by-step tutorial of how to do them with a curling iron. Please and thank you! :}
