Pleasure Beach In Blackpool: A Dream Holiday Destination
Pleasure Beach in Blackpool really lives up to its name. You really will not be disappointed if you take a pleasure trip with your family or friends. This amusement park and resort is located at Fylde coast in Blackpool, England. This privately owned entertainment park and resort is billed as one among the top twenty amusement parks in the world with about 5.5 million visitors in 2007. With so many visitors, it certainly must be a place that one should include in the “must visit” in your pleasure tour calendar.
It was founded by William George Bean in 1897. It was in 1905 the amusement park was given the “Blackpool Pleasure Beach. However it was not until 2003 that it got an official stamp as it was declared as an official resort with the inauguration of the Big Blue Hotel in the same year. Today the Thompson family owns this large and famous resort and amusement park.
On last count this place had nearly 40 rides and attractions. Of these 40 rides, twelve are roller coasters with the addition of Infusion in 2007. It was also home to one of the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world called Pepsi Max Big. This England based Pleasure beach also can prides itself of being the few parks in the world that can boast of traditional wooden Wild Mouse coaster. How many parks in the world you can think of still having such wooden coaster.
This beach is really worth visiting as it includes modern and classic-age rides. Children will especially enjoy their outing in this famed park as there is separate children-themed section called ‘Beaver Creek.’ There are several children specific attractions that include a Log Flume-type attraction-which is a 1,099 feet long junior wooden coaster. As children are overawed and love mascot, the park has taken care of this entertainment need by having its own costumed mascots.
To take care of the visitors’ gastronomic needs the park has food stalls, restaurants and cafés. You will love the eating joints as there is also an Italian themed restaurant called the ‘Italian Job.’ The beach/park authority has taken care to include restaurants and hotels that provide variety of cuisines to cater to the taste of every section of the visitors who comes from far-off places.
