What kind of food goes great at the beach?

9
Whenever we go to the beach, we always seem to have boring cold food. Tuna sandwiches, grapes, that kind of thing.

I’m looking to liven things up a bit next trip to the beach. Whatever we bring must be hand carried onto the beach. I could bring a small gas grill if cooking is required.

Please let me know what you and your family enjoy eating at the beach.

Some ideas could be:

Pick up subs from the deli and pack them in the cooler

Bring a bag of chips and some salsa for a quick snack

Make smores over the grill on the beach

Make fruit kabobs: get cheap wooden skewers at the grocery store and layer on sliced pineapple, strawberries, etc.

Cold pizza. Beer sausages a foot long (those real skinny ones that you get at the deli), watermelon, rice and salmon salad (mix canned salmon with cold rice, bit of green onion, lemon juice, bit of ranch dressing), iced tofu cubes in soysauce and sesame oil, green onion mixed with cold rice). No I’m not Asian but a lot of Asian food is good cold.

Check the rules for the beach your going to. I like to have a small fire to cook on and keep warm. For eats I marinate thin chunks of meat and roast them on a stick. Add veggies and you have a kabob. Take soft tortillas and grated cheese, salsa and you got soft tacos. The beauty of it is you can fit it all in a backpack including drinks.

We always have bing cherries, sometimes sub sandwiches, sometimes grilled chicken or brats, chips, Claussen pickels…

The best grilled chicken sauce happens when you combine equal parts of Worcestershire sauce and melted butter, and just a bit of red pepper flakes. Baste the chicken with the mix while it is grilling, and it is delicious.

I would make salad. Cucumbers with tomatoes.(cut them into small pieces) The sauce I would use is olive oil, pepper, salt, dry mint, & lemon.

You could also bring fruits, chips, sandwhiches, potatoe salad. Bring some water, soda or something you like to drink.
How about make some salmon on the grill?
You could eat the salmon w/ the salad. It would taste great
