What is the best beach for an adventurous family on Prince Edward Island?

We are not looking for the normal, crowded beach. We are looking perhaps for something a little out of the way that not many people go to, but is still beautiful. Your ideas would be most helpful.

I don’t know if this is what you are looking for, but I really enjoy going deep sea fishing from North Rustico. (I think that is the name of the town) It is a lot of fun! You get to go for a boat ride on the ocean, plus get to catch interesting fish!
Have fun!

there are beaches everywhere after all it is an island, around the village of Victoria on the southern side between Charlottetown and Summerside is nice and so is Point Prim, but just about any country lane leads to the ocean just get land owners permission

Check out the beaches around the Canoe Cove area on Prince Edward Island. You can walk for miles and the views are magnificent.

I’m an islander myself.. and my favourite beaches are Red Point Provincial Park in Souris(northest tip of the island) and another beach in Pamere Island(southeast), just past Montague.. those beaches are never crowded on even the warmest days of the summer, and the water is much warmer than those on the north shore..and they are beautiful! You can walk down the beaches for miles..

But another beach i love is Basin Head Provincial Park(souris).. it tends to be very crowded on hot days but it is a verrrry adventurous, beautiful and scenic beach. It’s a beach where there is a river current coming out into the ocean from a small lake inland that creates a current(strength of the current depends on whether the tide is high or low) out into the ocean.. and its fun to catch the current that runs between the two warfs and it carries you out about a hundred feet or so where the water gets very shallow and washes you up on a sandbar, the water is only waist deep and you can walk back to shore through the water.. there is also a few warfs and a small walking bridge(about 10feet above water surface) that you are allowed to jump off of into the water and there are ladders all along the warf so that you can climb back up without having to swim back to the shore.. because the water is very deep between the warfs. There are also many lifeguards there keeping an eye on everyone. So if you want adventure, Basin Head is the place to go!! I have a wikkid time everytime I travel up there, I was actually up there last week, and its definatley worth the drive, trust me on that one!
