What is a good college that is near a beach with half decent waves?

4
It is going to be my senior year of high school and it is time for me to start looking at colleges. I have a 3.4 GPA and scored an 1100 on my SATs. What would be a good college according to my grades that is near a beach with decent waves. I live in NJ and Cali is kind of far away but any ideas will help!

I know you want to stay East Coast, but you need to check out University of California at Santa Barbara and University of California San Diego. I live on both coast, but nothing compares to a Southern California beach. Nothing could be better than an education than a total change of coast. If you are into water board sports, their is no choice but California. UCSB has a local community college you can try out for the first two years.

If you want great beach and waves are not an issue. Pensacola, Florida has University of West Florida. Beautiful beaches for miles.

Richard Stockton State College in Atlantic County, NJ is a great school, and jammed packed with surfers. College of Charleston in Charleston, SC,, Flagler College, St. Augustine Fl. I know surfers who have gone to all of the above, and they are all good academic schools near great surf spots.

What do you plan to major in? If you don’t think southeastern PA is too far away from surf spots (NY, NJ, DE and MD??), I have a great small college that you might interested you.

California State University Long Beach. It’s cheap, easy to get into and minutes away from some of the best beaches in California. You wont get into any UC schools with those scores but you should be able to get into Long Beach. You could also try cal state Fullerton, Dominguez Hills, or even LA or cal poly pomona. They’re a little further away from the beach but totally doable. You’re pretty much guaranteed to get into at least one of those if you apply to them all.
Go for it!
