How do I become a beach lifeguard?

2
I am already a basic pool lifeguard during the summer time but I want to try and be a beach lifeguard. What process do I have to go through to become a beach lifeguard?

All you need is to take the NLS waterfront certification … its not a big deal if you already have the pool type. It was actually pretty fun when I did it ( you learn special techniques like boarding with waves and open water searches)

I would do it and if you interested the water park NLS is quite easy as well
I am assuming that you are from Canada/ national lifesaving society guidelines apply to where you work. If not I haven’t a clue what certs you need, sorry.

Happy guarding : )

Beach lifeguards are usually employed by the county. So, I’d contact the local county offices and/or the nearest (to the beach) city’s recreation department. Both should be able to provide you with information relevant to your wants.

Of course, you could also go down to the beach and ask one of the lifeguards.
