Is Mission Beach a safe place to stay in the summer?

Good question, but this depends on your sensibility, in the summer mission beach is very crowded and full of bars and people drinking. since last year there has been an alcohol ban in the beaches so this might make less the drinking level, but generally you will be very safe being that people there aren’t abusers or anything. trust me you’ll be very safe,just enjoy san diego!!

Yes-as long as you use the same common sense that you use everywhere else as well you will be completely safe. Mission Beach is more of a family oriented beach. Pacific beach is more of the young party crowd and Ocean Beach more druggie. Mission Beach is a nice area and Belmont Park is fun. Yes there are bars in the area but not so many that everyone is wandering around drunk. The boardwalk is a fun area to walk between PB and MB and is even OK to walk around in the evening as it is usually a bit crowded during the summer. Stay in a group during the evening and you will be fine. But that would be the case anywhere.

But feel confident that you guys will have a great time in Mission Beach.

Yes it is very safe, there is very little crime in the area at all. I would recomend getting a condo in either south mission (south of belmont park) or further up in PB.

Reason being that some of the rentals in MB dont have double windows, so the problem is the noise. I lived there a while back and the amount of fools going whooo whooo at 2 in the morning is crazy.

But you will be very safe, like anything dont go down a dark alley, drunk, waving money in the air and saying I am a tourist and I am lost.
